Fleming Bird Conservation Comittee

  • As part of the international effort to conserve bird populations across North America and in alignment with the ethos of Fleming College, the Frost Student Association is proud to spearhead the formation of the Fleming Bird Conservation Committee (FBCC). The FBCC, starting as a pilot at the School of Environmental and Natural Resource Sciences, is composed of students, faculty, and college representatives, has come together with the goal to transform the Frost Campus into Ontario’s first-ever Bird-Friendly college Campus. To accomplish this goal, our initial efforts will focus on securing the windows at the Frost Campus using deterrent decals.

  • Volunteer or just come by to learn at in-person events at Frost Campus. If you are interested in research, partnerships or volunteering with us, please visit our website below or send us an email at fbcc@flemingcollege.ca. We welcome participation from students, faculty, staff, and the community.

AKINA’OOwaDE Indigenous Perspectives on Land

  • The FSA AKINA'OOwaDE committee is made of of FSA Board of Directors, as well as Indigenous and non-Indigenous students, staff and faculty. We formed in 2022 to present the AKINA'OOwaDE Workshop Series, Indigenous Perspectives on Lands and Responsibility.

There is becoming more recognition for the value and contribution that Indigenous peoples and knowledges continue to offer society. At Fleming, our school has committed to challenging the colonial gaze. This can mean, truly honouring Indigenous narratives, languages, sovereignty, histories, re-telling colonial histories, and more.
