We here at the Frost Student Association have been working hard to make your campus better, but we can't do it without your help!
We will be holding our Annual General Meeting (AGM) on Wednesday November 30, 2016 at 7 pm in order to address important issues with you! Light refreshments will be served. The AGM will be followed by a Y2K Pub Night, with free access to all students who vote in the referendum, $2 admission for non-voting students - join us for a fun-filled night of old-school music and games!
Below you will find information in regards to the items we need you to vote on at our AGM. Without the student body vote, we are unable to make decisions on important agenda items that will benefit present and future students.
Why is there a Referendum?
The Fleming College Frost Campus students are being asked to vote on agenda items to determine whether or not they support changes being proposed by the Frost Student Association.
Where can I get more Information?
Any member of your Student Association can provide more information in the Frost Student Association office (Room 269.)
Additionally, we will have information tables set up in the Auks Lodge and on the Discovery Trail.
When is the Referendum Vote?
You can vote at the Frost Student Association Annual General Meeting on Wednesday, November 30, 2016 at 7 pm.
How do I vote?
You will be provided with an information package upon your arrival to the AGM. Included in this information package will be a voting card for the questions being presented to the Frost Campus student body. All questions will be answered by checking Yes or No.
What if I want to vote, but cannot attend?
We will have proxy voting tables set-up from November 21 to November 25 in the Auks Lodge, see the Frost Student Association Facebook page for more information on times to proxy your vote.
What am I voting on?
Information and questions will be presented to the student body at the AGM in regards to the following subjects:
- Restructuring the Building Ancillary Fee in order to continue upgrading the Student Centre (The Auks Lodge) and sustaining it's day to day operations.
- The food services contract provided by Aramark (Kawartha Grille) in the Auks Lodge is up in March 2017. The FSA would like to know if the students are in favour of extending a contract with Aramark, or if they are in favour of the Frost Student Association running the food services in the Auks Lodge.
- The trial contract with Phoenix (Shuttle Bus provider) ends in May 2017, we want to know if the students wish to continue the operation of the Frost Student Association shuttle bus services.
What is needed for the Referendum to pass?
For a referendum to pass a quorum must be reached with minimum of five percent (5%) of full time students attending and voting at the AGM. Fifty one percent (51%) or more of the cast votes must be in favour of agenda items in order to pass the referendum.
We look forward to hearing from you!
